Urban Design Utah: Rio Grande Concept Plan Screening Analysis

Join AIA Utah this Friday for an Urban Design Utah continuing education program, which will provide an update on the recently completed professional Screening Analysis for the Rio Grande Plan. The Rio Grande Concept Plan Screening Analysis, managed by Salt Lake City Transportation Division, evaluated – in very general terms rather than in detail – what it would take to underground the heavy rail track utilized by FrontRunner and Union Pacific, roughly between 1300 S and 600 N. The study did not make a recommendation, but identified the key issues to provide decision makers preliminary information about the costs and benefits of such an undertaking so that they may decide whether the concept merits further detailed study.
